Lui Ngai Ni Festival celebrated

The Naga Seed Sowing Festival- Lui Ngai Ni 2022 was celebrated at the District Sports Complex ground in Christian Village, Chandel district on Tuesday.
The festival hosted by Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) on the theme "Our Culture Our Journey" was held with Naga Folk Singer Guru Rewben Mashangva Tangkhul (Padmashree) as chief guest and Chandel Naga People's Organisation president David Boyes as the functional president.
Among others, Festival's Local Organising Committee convenor HL Lovingson, and representatives of United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women's Union (NWU), All Naga Students' Association of Manipur (ANSAM), Naga Frontal Organisations, village chiefs and religious leaders also took part in the festival.
After Guru Rewben Mashangva unfurled the festival flag, cultural troupes of Maring, Tarao, Anal, Khoibu, Monsang, Aimol, Chothe, Moyon and Lamkang tribes presented their respective dances.
As a part of the celebration's tradition, Chandel Christian Village headman JS Luxmon Anal and his wife PS Jolhung Anal handed over seeds of various food and cash crops to the tribe leaders while Rewben Mashangva presented Naga folk songs.
CNPO president David Boyes presented a brief account on essence of celebrating the festival.
