Imphal, February 15 2022:
After witnessing the BJP's wish to establish a Hindu-only state, people of the country no longer want the party, but are clamouring for the return of secular Congress, claimed former MLA Amin Shah has stated.
Speaking during the flag hoisting ceremony held at his residence on Tuesday, Amin maintained that Muslim women, as per custom, wear hijab.
However, this is recently being challenged by BJP leaders, out of their intentions to establish a Hindu-only India.
However, such religion-based mindsets have no place in a country like India, which is inhabited by different communities.
Such mindsets have made people no longer want BJP and instead look forward to the return of Congress government, which the latter will fulfil by securing at least 30 seats in the ensuing polls, he remarked.
Observing the scenes surrounding the ensuing polls, the ex-MLA said that there used to be no poll-related violence in the past.
However, there has been an increase of such incidents ever since the BJP formed the government after the last polls.
Furthermore, many people who were "swindled" into joining BJP with promise of party tickets, have left the party and have now joined Congress.
This indicates that BJP will suffer a huge defeat in the upcoming elections, he added.
