Huge cache of ammos on sale seized

Senapati, February 15 2022:
Senapati police seized a huge cache of ammunition that were on sale illegally at Senapati bazar today.
According to Senapati police, having received reliable information that some illegal arms and ammunitions were being sold at an electronic shop, a police team led by the SP in the presence of Addl SP (Law & Order), Senapati and Addl SP (NH-2), Senapati rushed to the said shop and conducted house search.
During the search, a huge cache of ammunition was recovered from the shop and was seized in the presence of Lunguiba Thangal, SDO, Purul, Senapati.
The following items were recovered from the shop: 440 rounds of shaktiman express plastic cartridges, 70 rounds of Lakshya gun cartridges, 50 rounds of bolt gun cartridges, 40 rounds of .22 rifle ammunition, 50 packets of 4.8 gun pellet, 19 packets of LG gun pellet, 44 packets of gun cartridge cap and hard disc of CCTV camera.
In this connection, the owner of the shop identified as Kaikho Adahrii @ Adahrii Moses Phimu, 31 years, s/o (L) Kaikho of Song Song village, presently residing at Church Road Colony, Senapati was arrested.
On questioning, the owner admitted to having been selling such live ammunition without any license for the last 2-3 years.
A suo-moto case under FIR No.7(2) 2022, Senapati police station under Section 25(I-C) of Arms Act has been registered for investigation.
Addressing media persons, Karthik Malladi SP of Senapati police stated that based on some inputs about sale of some illegal items at Senapati bazar, a police team including the SP, 2 Additional SPs and OC raided the shop and found 2 persons selling such illegal items.
During the search operation the team found such a cache of ammunition being stored and sold without any license.
Mention may be made that all license holders of arms had been deposited at Senapati police station as ordered by the Superintendent of Police ahead of the Assembly election in the State.
