U-19 Women's Trophy: THAU demolish AKSDO by 143 runs

THAU-Thangmeiband overwhelmed AKSDO-Khangabok by 143 runs in the second match of the 1st MNCA U-19 Women's One Day Trophy as Setemy Devi Brahmacharimayum and Niruta Thoudam were in prolific form with their bats at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part IV.
Put in to bat first, THAU racked up 298 runs for 10 in 33.4 overs and restricted AKSDO to 155 for 7 in 35 overs.
THAU lost Mangalleibi Salam for 1 but Setemy Devi and Niruta Thoudam racked up a 110-run partnership for the second before Setemy went out in the 10th over with 58 runs off 35 balls.
Setemy found the fence 12 times (10 fours and 2 sixes) on her way to 58 runs total today.
Niruta Thoudam then anchored well to post a brilliant 120 off just 54 balls as she smashed 24 fours and 2 sixes to help THAU post a commendable total of 298 runs even as the innings ended in 33.4 overs.
AKSDO skipper Olebia Khundrakpam picked up four wickets in this innings as Alish Thokchom, Rabina Khundrakpam and Sofia Saikhom managed a wicket each.
In the chase, economical bowling peformance and Priyanshee Hanglem's successful stint helped THAU keep AKSDO batters on check to eventually hold them to 155 runs.
Priyanshee emerged the pick of THAU bowlers with the bowling figures of 3 for 24 in 7 overs while Nilopher Tokpam, Niruta Thoudam and Setemy Brahmacharimayum picked up a wicket each.
Niruta who shone with his bat was adjudged player of the match.
PTRC will play PTCC in an all Patsoi match tomorrow.
