Lecture on healthy habits, medical camp organised

With an aim to create awareness amongst the populace who reside in remote and border areas, Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a lecture on healthy habits at Hiangtam Khunou in Churachandpur district on Sunday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the locals including children were educated on myriad of healthy habits to ensure proper nutrition, hygiene and health care during the event.
They were also briefed on various measures to keep viral diseases at bay.
On the other-hand, Shangshak Battalion conducted a medical camp under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme for Singcha and Gamnoum villages in Kamjong district on Sunday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the camp was organised since the locals don't have the access to any medical facilities in nearby area and situated quite far from Ukhrul, where the basic medical facilities are available.
Lady medical staff was catered specially to address the issues of women and girls.
A total of 165 villagers (56 male, 74 female and 35 children) from both the villages were examined and provided with basic medication.
The initiative by Assam Rifles has solved the long pending need of medical assistance for the villagers, the PRO said, adding that village authorities ap plauded efforts of the Assam Rifles for such kind gesture which will improve the mutual trust and maintain peace and harmony in the region.
