Imphal, November 20 2022:
All Manipur Health Services Doctors' Association (AMHSDA) has called off its protest of closure of OPD under Manipur Health and Family Welfare Services indefinitely and has convened a general body meeting on November 22 at Amity Hall, Adimjati Complex at 12 noon to discuss the development.
In a release, AMHSDA general secretary Dr Lolee P Mao stated that after the first and the second round of ministerial level talks and considering the importance of annual Sangai Festival which will be attended by many foreign and national delegates as well as the request from the health and family services Dr S Ranjan Singh, who assured of pursuing the matter for an early solution, the Association agreed to suspend the protest of closing of OPDs of government medical centres indefinitely but it can be abrogated any time depending on the outcome of the general body meeting on November 22.Decrying the Home Department order dated November 17 that belittled its genuine demands as unreasonable, unbecoming of government servant and illegal, AMHSDA contended that the said order is an attempt to demean doctors as a whole.
