Nemcha Kipgen inspects Sangai festival venues

With Manipur Sangai festival-2022 all set to begin from Monday, commerce & industries minister Nemcha Kipgen inspected festival venues like Hapta Kangjeibung at Palace compound and Geljao resort in Churachandpur on Sunday.
Minister Nemcha, who is the Festival in-charge for Churachandpur district, was accompanied by additional chief secretary V Vumlunmang, tourism commissioner Pradip Kumar Jha and DC Churachandpur during her inspection at Geljang resort.
Nemcha told media persons on the sidelines of the visit that Hapta Kangjeibung and Peace ground and Geljang resort are among several venues for the 11th edition of Manipur Sangai Festival and preparations at these venues have been completed.
She urged people of the state to welcome tourists coming to witness the festival and showcase them the rich culture and traditions of Manipur.
She also expressed hope that the festival will not only strengthen love and understanding among different communities of Manipur but also enhance the economy of the state.
Mention may be made here that different cultural programmes will be showcased at Peace ground and Geljang resort in Churachandpur as part of Sangai festival and chief minister N Biren Singh will open the programmes at these two venues on November 24 .
