Manipur wins overall champion in National Wheelchair Fencing Championships

Manipur Wheelchair Fencing team has lifted the Overall Team Champion's trophy in the recently concluded 5th National Wheelchair Fencing Championships which was organised by Orissa Wheelchair Fencing Association under the aegis of Wheelchair Fencing Federation of India at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneshwar in Odisha from December 28 to 30 .
Manipur team won 8 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals in the championships and won the overall champion's trophy.
In Men's category A, W Sohodeba of Mayang Imphal won 3 gold and 1 silver medals.
Chandrakumar Ahanthem of Keishamthong Ahanthem Leikai won 3 gold and one silver medals.
S Ratankumar of Langthabla Kunja won two gold and 1 silver medals.
Srabasri Vishma Raj Dhungel of Motbung, M Manichand of Samurou, L Bidyasagar of Samurou and S Bijoy of Hiyangthang won a gold medal in Foil team event.
They also won a silver and a bronze in team events of Epee and Sabre respectively.
In category B of Men, Chenam Riyaz Khan of Golapari Hatta bagged 2 bronze medals in Epee and Sabre individual events.
Meanwhile, in women's category A, Okram Manisana of Chajing Mairenkhong defended her national title in Foil Individual.
Oinam Menaka of Singjamei also emerged national champion in Epee and Sabre Individual events.
