New Year celebrated widely

Manipur Baptist Convention and 69 B n CRPF celebrated New Year at their respective locations along with religious and cultural programmes.
At MBC Centre Church, Chingmeirong Pastor L Simon Raomai led the gathering in seeking blessing of the almighty to usher peace in Manipur.
The religious head, in his brief speech also expressed hope the New Year will further strengthen the age-old relationship amongst various communities settled in the State.
As a part of the event, RT Johnson Raith spoke on the theme 'A new humanity in Christ'.
At the Mantripukhri headquarters of 69 Bn CRPF, presentation of cultural items by Hari Mati Dance Music Centre, Porompat and a barakhana attended by children of Hope Home, civil dignitaries and unit personnel marked the New Year's day celebration.
Conveying best wishes to the people of Manipur, 69 Bn Commandant Rakesh Kumar Singh expressed hope that the new year will herald an era of peace, prosperity, harmony and all round progress for all, Manipur is a State which is going to play very crucial role in 'Look East Policy" and CRPF will endeavour to carry on the peace process which has started since a few years back, said the Commandant who highlighted that since induction, CRPF had been making efforts to mix-up with the population and provide assistance as far as possible.
Children of Hope Home also presented songs about various bandhs and blockades as well as about hope and expectations in Manipur if all work with love and cooperation.
Meanwhile, 116 Bn BSF organised a tea/coffee party at Nehru Marg Junction, Churachandpur from 5 pm till midnight of December 31, ,2012, According to a statement issued here, the event was attended by more than 3000 people, including the district Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police.
