2nd T-20 Veteran Cricket meet : Ibobi carries the day for CHAMP

A blistering 88 runs off only 60 balls from Ibobi carried the day for CHAMP as they won the day's match against IWV CC by 8 wickets in the 2nd T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Toumament today.
Electing to bat first, on winning the toss, IWVCC rode on Bungobi's brilliant knock of 63 runs off 50 balls and some notable contributions from the other batsmen to put up a competitive score of 144 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Bungobi was ably assisted by Ashok who compiled a patient 27 runs off 39 balls followed by Bashanta with 14 runs off 17 balls and Rojikumar who made a breezy 7 off only 6 balls.
The other batsmen however could not match up with the splendid display of Bungobi, with Ibobi and Mohen of CHAMP leading the charge with 2 wickets each followed by Ratan with one wicket.
Though Bungobi and Ashok put up a fight, wickets fell regularly at the other end and CHAMP were able to restrict IWVCC to 144 runs.
The run chase began on the right note with Ibobi opening up his bat and plundering 88 ball from 60 balls, punishing all the loose balls with some huge hits to the boundary.
The blistering pace set by Ibobi took the wind out of the bowlers of IWVCC as only Roni was among the wicket takers returning figures of 2 wickets.
Tejbanta led able support to Ibobi chipping in with a valuable 24 runs off 35 balls followed by Ratan who made a quick fire 10 runs off 9 balls.
With other bowlers failing to hit the right note and spraying the ball all around, Ibobi did not have much trouble in going for the big hits to help his team reach the target of 145 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets in 17.5 overs.
For his all round show of 88 runs off 60 balls and for scalping two valuable wickets, Ibobi of CHAMP walked away with the man of the match award.
