Speaking as the chief guest, Th Chaoba regretted that education has become a costly affair in Manipur with many from the poorer section of the society unable to pursue their goal in life.
Opining that lack of good governance in Manipur has been the breeding ground for rampant corruption, he contended that when the people are deprived of even regular power supply and sufficient potable water then Manipur's status as a part of independent India is highly questionable.
