1st Plate Cricket Tournament : PCC down YWC (P) in low scoring match

In a low scoring match, PCC managed to restrict YWC (Patsoi) at 77 runs in 22 overs and reached the target for the loss of 4 wickets to win by 6 wickets in the 1st Plate Cricket Tournament.
Winning the toss, YWC (Patsoi) opted to bat but were bogged down by the incisive bowling from PCC to notch up a paltry score of 77 runs in 22 overs.
For PCC Shankar led the charge, bagging three wickets and he was ably assisted by Rohit and Ranjan who chipped in with two wickets each.
Keeping a fine line and length, the bowlers from PCC managed to extract swing and bounce from the pitch and bowled out YWC for 77 runs in 22 overs.
With the exception of Santosh who compiled a patient knock of 34 runs off 58 balls, the other batsmen of YWC could not contribute much as wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
Set a very modest target of 78 runs, the PCC batsmen went about with their task carefully not indulging in any rash shots.
Ranjan made a breezy 12 runs off 17 balls followed by Bidison with 12 balls off 32 balls and Ashish 10 runs off 25 balls.
Ranjan and Ashish carried their bat through the match and easily reached the target of 78 runs for the loss of four wickets.
For his fine show with the ball, Shankar of PCC walked off with the man of the match award.
This was the 23rd match of the tournament and tomorrow CRAU will take on FORCE.
