NYP, RGKA in Imphal West, Kangpokpi

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Imphal West today launched the National Youth Policy (NYP) 2014 and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) in a function held at Kuranganayani Hall of Imphal West DC Office at Lamphelpat here.
The launching function was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West K Radhakumar as Chief Guest and Zonal Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Sahib as President, while Director of SAI/NERC Dr Subash Basumatary as Guest of Honour.
The volunteers of NYK and players of SAI/NERC carried out a mass rally from SAI/NERC Complex, Takyelpat to Imphal West DC Office, Lamphelpat to raise awareness on NYP and RGKA.
Similarly, as part of launching National Youth Policy(NYP), 2014 and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan(RGKA),2014, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kangpokpi also organized a Mass Youth Rally from Kanglatongbi to Motbung in Sadar Hills today.
The event was attended by Seikholet Singsit, Deputy Inspector of Schools, Saitu-Gamphazol as Chief Guest.
The National Youth Policy 2014 is a holistic vision for the youth of India which is "to empower the youth of the country to achieve their full potential and through them enable India to find its rightful place in the community of nations" .
On the other hand, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan is an attempt to promote sports by developing 6500 sport complexes in every rural block of the country, providing funds for conducting competitions at Block (Rs.1 lakh), District (Rs.4 lakh), State (Rs.2 lakh for each district in the State) and National level (Rs.10 lakh per sports discipline).
Above all, there would be Youth Resource Centre, Sports Trainer and training of women for self defence.
The Government would also provide funds for sports equipments to the tune of Rs.15 lakh.
