Imphal, February 21 2014 :
The All Manipur Education (S) Department Ad-hoc Employees' Association has urged the State Government to regularize their service.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, convenor of the association Tongbram Amuchou questioned as to why 348 ad-hoc employees of Education (S) Department are kept as such when ad-hoc employees of all other departments have been regularized.
Between 1996 and 1999, Graduate and Primary teachers were recruited on ad-hoc basis to make up shortage of teachers.
10 to 15 years before this recruitment, ad-hoc employees (primary engaged in manual works) have been working in the same department but their service is yet to be regularized.
The association has already submitted 11 memoranda to the State Chief Minister urging for the same demand; i.e service regularization of ad-hoc employees.
Saying that the latest memorandum was submitted on February 20, Amuchou demanded a definite response to the memorandum.
