1140 goods trucks bound for Imphal

Imphal, September 25 2011:
Atleast 1140 goods laden vehicles left Jiribam for Imphal under heavy security cover of MR and IRB personnel today, reports our Correspondent.
The vehicles included 426 trucks of cement, 66 diesel tankers, 28 LPG bullets, 51 petrol tankers, 16 trucks of FCI rice, six trucks of medicine, three trucks of fertilizer, three trucks of paper and other trucks carrying essential commodities.
Meanwhile, around 200 women of Jiribam are continuing the relay hunger strike in front of MSF office, Jiribam in pursuit of the demand for upgradation of Jiribam into a full-fledged revenue district.
The demand is spearheaded by the JDDC.
