AR organises Anti malaria drive

Imphal, September 25 2011:
The 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organized an "Anti Malaria and Water Borne Diseases Drive" at Waikhong on September 24, with an aim to prevent diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Chikengunia and Filaria which are common during and just after the rainy season.
Defogging of the entire area of Waikhong Market was carried out during the drive.
Insecticides were also sprayed around the waterlogged places to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes which are the root cause of many ailments.
Similarly, 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) also carried out a weeklong Anti malaria campaign from September 16 from New Molanghat and Aibol Joupi villages on Indo-Myanmar border and conculded at Shaluk and Chakpikarong.
Approximately 350 villagers participated in the campaign.
During the campaign fumigation and fogging of moskil and malathion was carried out.
Lectures on personal hygiene and health care was also conducted at various places by Unit RMO.
