ADC employees moot strike

The employees of six ADCs of the State are set to launch indefinite cease work strike from October 3 if their due arrears are not cleared at the earliest.
According to a press release, 14 percent DA arrears of these employees for a period of January 1, 2001 to June 30, 2005 have not been cleared so far by the State Government.
The arrears from October 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 which was granted by the Government with an order issued by the Governor have also not been materialised, it added.
All Manipur District Council Teachers Association convened a meeting in this regard at Hotel Tampha yesterday and decided to hold meetings at all ADC headquarters on October 1 to discuss the indefinite cease work strike to be started from October 3 .
UADCTA warns: Ukhrul Autonomous District Council Teachers' Association (UADCTA) has expressed concern over non clearance of salary for ADC employees from May to September this year.
The association also said that arrear of ADC employees have also not been cleared for the period of January 2001 to May 2005 .
It added that education system in the hill areas would degrade without non payment of monthly salary and arrear and improvement of infrastructure.
The association also warned the Government that it would resort to agitation if necessary action in this regard is not taken up at the earliest.
