House gutted

Lamka, September 08 2015 :
Even as the rush triggered by the JAC's 60 hours bandh was at its peak, a fire believed to have started from a cooking gas leakage completely razed an old one storey wooden residential block here at around 8.45 am.
The fire that annihilated the properties of at least five families on Tipaimukh Road, Hiangtam Lamka triggered a false alarm as many who saw a thick black smoke rising from the heart of the township assumed it to be another act of arson.
The timely intervention of fire brigade and locals to control the razing fire saved several adjoining houses many of which are made of wood and mud as well.
