Tengnoupal stages sit-in against PMP Bill

In protest against the passing of PMP Bill, 2015 by the State Assembly and killing of nine protesters in Churachandpur, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Tengnoupal Block organized a sit in protest at Tengnoupal bazaar in Chandel District on Tuesday.
Large number of students, villagers and village chiefs of Tengnoupal Sub-Division took part in the protest by holding several placards which read "We want immediate repeal of the three Bills," "Shame on you Tribal MLAs," "Stop discriminating the tribals" and "Why rubber bullets and tear gas shells for the valley people and live bullet and guns for tribals" .

The protesters also displayed the photographs of those killed in Churanchandpur.
"Our Martyrs were killed by Manipur Government with Chinese bullets" and "Your blood will not go in vain," were written on the photos.
A condolence programme led by Th Chongloi, Pastor Tengnoupal Christian Church was also held for the departed souls.
A one-minute silence was also observed to show respect to the departed souls.
Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA) Chandel District Joint Secretary Christina Ating Haokip, KSO Chandel District President Doumang Haokip, KSO Tengnoupal Block Advisor T Seikholet Baite and Chief of Phalbung Village Lunkhomang Haokip also delivered speeches during the condolence programme.
