The 5th Ching-Tam Traditional Cultural Festival, 2015 organised by All Manipur Huiyen Lallong and Traditional Cultural Preservation Committee (AMHLATCPC) from September 4 concluded on Tuesday at Roop Mahal Theatre Imphal.

Giving the keynote address, AMHLATCPC secretary general Ratan Leishangthem said that the Ching-Tam Traditional Cultural Festival has been organizing since the last five years with an aim to protect the indigenous culture and tradition which has been continuously threatened by outside forces.
Elangbam Johnson said that it is unfortunate to see the indigenous tradition and culture being ignored by today's society though it seems to be well preserved.
The present difficulties faced by the people in the State might be a result of the ignorance of the culture and tradition set up by the great forefathers, said Johnson.
He said that implementation of inner line permit system in Manipur will not harm any indigenous community, but it will be the only way to safeguard the indigenous groups of the State.
