The Kuki Organisation for Human Rights (KOHUR) has said that it would be in the best interest of all to sit together, talk over and try making the Bills acceptable to all.
In an open memorandum to the CM, KOHUR chairman Dr T Lunkim said any antagonistic feelings between the Bill supporters and those against it must be removed.
It urged the CM to recall the Bills for study and find out ways and means to satisfy all citizens of the State and usher in peace.
It also urged the Govt to perform 'hemkham' (comparable to ceasefire) ceremony within limited days traditionally set.
The Govt must take initiative, come forward with folded hands, ask forgiveness and to provide all traditionally required materials to perform the funeral service of those killed.
If the victim party accepts the prayers of the perpetrators, then the mortal remains will be buried in one grave and be decorated in the same manner of decoration accorded to those killed in the June 2001 protest.
The ball is in the court of the Chief Minister and his Govt, it added.
