MUTSU urges VC
Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) has requested the VC of MU to postpone entrance tests for admission to master programme in various departments of the university which were scheduled to be conducted within Sept 11 in order to avoid inconveniences of the students due to the prevailing situation in the State particularly the hill districts.
Children home thanks
Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi Sanapat thanked Lions Club of Imphal City for organising a free eye care camp and providing ration and stationery items to the home.
The children home also thanked club president Dr RK Kumarjit of Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai and Namoijam Birendrakumar of Khagempali Panthak for extending monetary aid to the home.
PREPAK(Pro) refutes
The proscribed PREPAK(Pro), in a press release issued by its senior publicity officer Melei, has refuted any connection whatsoever between the outfit and Laishram Brojen (28) s/o L Sapta of Khangabok Meisnam Leikai who was reportedly apprehended by a combined team of 45 AR and Heingang Police for extortion from Zilla Parishad Members and for his involvement in planting IEDs from Pangei area.

Bhagirath Nata Sankritan Kanglup, a folk and traditional recital troupe, Wangbal Maning Leikai, Thoubal performed seven Govt publicity programmes on nutrition, SBM, National integration and communal harmony, social harmony, rural development, BBBP during the Nutrition week observance from Sept 1 to Sept 7 at different places in Thoubal district, informed a statement.
SADC appeals
The Sadu Area Development Committee, Saikul pointed out that the village link route constructed under PMGSY scheme within Sadu area has failed as culverts and plates constructed between Satang and Makokching is damaged as quality was compromised in the construction.
SADC urged the authorities concerned to look into the problem and take up necessary action in public interest.
MSPDCL informs
The 132/33 KV Sub-Station, Churachandpur will be shut down on September 9 for repairing the 132KV circuit breaker at the Sub-Station.
Therefore, consumers of Churachandpur and Moirang Subdivisions will experience power cut from 6 am till 11 am on September 9, informed the deputy general manager, Sub-Station Division No III, MSPDCL.
Petrol for school vans
All Manipur School Students Transporters' Association will distribute petrol to school vans at BE Petrol pump, North AOC from 5am.Vans from serial number 981 to the last will be issued 10 litres each of petrol, according to a statement.
Ukl rally
The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) is planning a massive rally here tomorrow to protest the passing of three 'anti-tribal' Bills by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on Aug 31, reports our correspondent.
The rally will begin from 11 am.
Shops, business establishments will be closed while vehicular movement will be halted during the rally period.
