Juveniles sent to observation home

Imphal, August 18 2015:
Five other juvenile students, who have been staging indefinite hunger strike at the gate of Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy since August 16 demanding ILPS implementation, have been produced before the Principal Magistrate of Juvenile Justice Board, Imphal East and sent to observation homes.
After the students were pulled up by police from their agitation venue, they were taken to RIMS hospital for medical check-up.
They were produced before the Board under FIR Number 244 (8) 2015 of Porompat police station under Section 309 (attempting to commit suicide) and Section 34 (common intension) .
The Principal Magistrate ordered to detain the three boys at Juvenile Observation Home, Takyelpat and two girls at Juvenile Observation Home (Leikol), Langthabal till August 29 .
The Superintendents of the two observation homes were instructed to take up necessary steps for medical examination and treatment at any convenient hospital and also instructed to submit periodic reports by the authority concerned and Superintendents of the observation homes.
