Many condemn Moreh violence

Taking strong exception to the Moreh incident today where a con-frontation took place between two groups, the Kuki Women's Union (KWU) has appealed to all concerned to ensure that such unwarranted incidents do not recur in future.
President of KWU, Rose Mangshi Haokip said that the Kuki Women's Union denounced disruption of the mass rally by a group of people.
She appealed to all concerned to make concerted efforts to prevent recurrence of such ugly incident in future.
Rose Mangshi asked whether some people are scheming to derail the ILPS movement.
If it happens to be so, all Kuki women should collectively take major role to prevent recurrence of such unwarranted incidents in future.
She also urged all concerned to work for mainte- nance of peace and harmony among the different ethnic communities of the State.
The KWU president urged all Kukis to join the ILPS movement.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has strongly condemned the Moreh incident today and urged all concerned to immediately stop activities that serve the interest of a particular group or vested individuals.
AMSU will face such acts if continued in future.
The students' body also expressed shock and dismay at the conduct of security forces who allegedly turned a blind eye to act of vandalism carried out by some groups right in front of their nose.
The AMSU urged the State Home Dept to minutely look into the matter.
At the same time, the United People's Front (UPF), Manipur has strongly condemned the act of some people who disrupted a pro-ILPS rally at Moreh today.
In a statement, the UPF appealed to the Kuki apex bodies, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and KSO to look into the matter.
CPI (Marxist), Manipur State Council has strongly condemned the unwarranted incident that occurred at border town, Moreh today.
In a statement, CPI (M) urged the State Govt to take immediate measures to keep the tension under control and prevent violence.
It urged all concerned to maintain communal harmony and not to spread or rely on rumours.
