Imphal, August 18 2015:
Apunba Iramdamgi Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) has backed out of the JCILPS Student Wing following a rift between the Students' Wing and DESAM.
Speaking to media persons, general secretary of AIMS Thokchom Robinmala stated that the ongoing protest is now heading towards a stage where protesters are targeting the general public.
The ongoing two hours general strike in different areas and localities have caused serious inconveniences to the public including patients and medical staff.
In order to stop such activities, leaders of JCILPS should take a concrete step to stop such agitation as it could derail the movement.
Such activity has compelled AIMS to detach itself from the conglomerate of student bodies, but will continue to support the issue, she added.
On Moreh incident today, Robinmala further appealed to all concerned communities to stop activities that could lead to communal hatred.
The proposed Inner Line Permit system is not only for the benefit of one particular community but for every native and indigenous populace of Manipur, she added.
