Imphal, August 18 2015:
Indefinite hunger strikers L Pratap (48) of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai and L Gunindro (41) of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai were left at JNIMS hospital by Sajiwa jail authority stating that their health conditions have deteriorated.
Speaking to The Sangai Express at the hospital, Gunindro said that they would never break their fast until ILPS is implemented in the State.
He also urged the authority concerned not to feed them forcibly.
On the otherhand, L Pratap urged the people not to lose heart and carry on the pro-ILPS movement in the right direction.
He expressed deep concern over not taking the issue seriously by the Government although people have been staging intense agitation since the past two months while Robinhood's body is still lying at morgue.
Stating that the movement has been dragging for such a long period due to Government's insincerity towards resolving the issue, Pratap also strongly condemned the Government for trying to suppress the people's voice.
The Government is still buying time although young students have not been able to attend classes since the past two months, he said.
Saying that they decided to stage indefinite hunger strike as the Government has failed to fulfil people's popular demand, Pratap urged the public to carry on the agitation unitedly until ILPS is implemented in the State.
Police pulled up Pratap at around 2:30 am and Gunindro at around 5 am from their hunger strike venue at Thangmeiband and rushed them at RIMS hospital.
After Court remanded the duo to 15 days judicial remand, they were sent to Central jail, Sajiwa.
However, jail authority brought them back to JNIMS hospital stating that the they are too weak.
