RIMS urges for free movement during ILP protest

Director of RIMS, Imphal, Prof S Rita Devi has on Tuesday expressed concern about the problems faced by the hospital in recent days in discharging its duties during this very precious movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur.
During this movement, hospital staff including doctors and nurses could not reach hospital sometimes to attend their duties due to blockade of road, Prof S Rita said in a statement.
There have been instances of staff vehicles being damaged and even use of abusive language to the staff while coming to attend hospital duties.
It is very difficult to function RIMS hospital smoothly without the doctors, nurses and other staff, the statement said.
"Therefore, I sincerely appeal to the JCILPS and the public agitators to ensure that least inconvenience is caused to the medical fraternity including paramedical staff of RIMS, Imphal while coming to attend their duties and returning home during the ILP agitation," it said.
It may also be mentioned that some of the injured volunteer members and students and other activists who are on fast onto death are undergoing treatment in RIMS Hospital, the statement added.
