'Give preference to TET Meetei Mayek passed candidates'

Saying that the decision taken by the government to appoint 140 teachers for schools based in Jiribam is a welcoming step, the Jiri Louri Khongthang Lup, Jiribam has made a fervent appeal to the Education Minister to give special preference to TET Meetei Mayek passed out candidates of Jiribam in appointment of the said teachers.
In a statement on Wednesday, the organization said many schools in Jiribam have been facing shortage of teachers for the last many years which compelled several students' organizations based in the sub-division to launch protests.
Acting on it, the government issued a notice for appointment of 140 Primary and Graduate Teachers and conducted the screening on August 11 in which around 300 candidates appeared.
The selection process for appointment of the said teachers has been already started from August 12, the statement added.
