Most successful person is one who gets best book: ADM Joseph Pauline

Joseph Pauline, ADM speaking on the occasion of 'Librarian Day' as Chief Guest, said that the most successful person in life is the one who gets and reads the best book.
Addressing the students and participants of the Librarian's Day observance and One Day Library Awareness cum Book Exhibition organized by the Manipur Library Association and District Library, Senapati, the ADM further stated "to become great people we need inspiration from great people's life depicted through biographies that can be found in library" .
Further inspiring the students to cultivate reading habit, the MCS officer quoted examples of great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Gina and others who veraciously had the reading habit through which they acquired knowledge to fight against the powerful British Empire.
The ADM strongly urged the young audience to cultivate reading habit as the foremost habit.
He also asserted, "when we get reading habits we get addicted and books become a friend and super parents".
Joseph Pauline also called library as 'People's University.
The programme was inaugurated by Joseph Pauline, as Chief Guest, R Rang Peter, CEO of ADC, Senapati as Guest of Honor and L Sabita Devi, President, MALA, as the President of the programme.
The programme was sponsored by Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF) Kolkata and Department of Arts & Culture, Manipur and participated by CMO, SDSA student leaders, DLOs of other department and students of Brook Dale School.
In the programme, R Rang Peter also stated that library is the reservoir and store house of information and knowledge but we never realized while during high school, but it's a great shy to be amidst friends with less knowledge.
"No one can be master of all, but we can be 'Jack of all but master of none' through library.
In a brief address, the CEO stressed that while people crave to read but lack time, however, we have time but don't have the habit to read.
Library that is the custodian of all ideas, ideals and philosophy of great people, our ideas and ideals also can be preserved through writing, he continued.
The president of the programme emphasized on learning process in the stages of human life as constant and continued process that has no end to learning.
Stressing on the importance and need for reading habit, towards the young students, "to cultivate reading habit, the 1st step a person should take is to step into library", the president of MALA stated.
RK Urmila Devi, Librarian (i/c) District Library, Senapati presented key-note address of the programme, the need and importance of Library.
During the programme, the Chief Guest also paid floral tribute to Dr S R Ranganathan while launching the book exhibition.
