School campaign held
2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) conducted a campaign on generating awareness for local youth to join Indian Army for the students of St NBA High School at Irong today.
150 students including 55 girls attended the programme, said an AR press release.
KYKL cadre held
A combined team of troops of 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) and Lamlai police personnel apprehended one KYKL cadre from Nongren yesterday.
The apprehendee has been identified as No 8428 self styled private Yumkhaibam Naoba Meitei alias Tunal alias Dinesh (24) s/o Nongyai Meitei of Tumukhong Mayai Leikai.
He has been handed over to Lamlai police station, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .

MU tests rescheduled
Entrance test for admission to M Sc (Anthropology) which was scheduled earlier to be held on Sept 11 has been postponed to Sept 19.The time and venue will remain unchanged.
Entrance test for M Sc Earth Sciences (Geology) which was earlier slated for Sept 11 has been postponed indefinitely.
Entrance test for admission to MA Economics scheduled earlier for September 11 has been postponed to Sept 16 at 11.30 am at the same venue.
Locals ban
Coordinating Committee of local Nisha bandh, Kamjong, Kamjong Students' Union and Kamjong Shinao Long said the stay of one Roma Mayanglambam at Kamjong is no longer required as she failed to pay heeds to repeated warnings not to sell liquor in the locality.
Roma is from Pungdongbam Mayai Leikai who is currently staying at Kamjong.
A total of 68 litres of local liquor were seized from Roma on Sept 3, according to a statement.
She was asked on many occasions to refrain from doing illegal business.
However, she pays no heed to the warnings.
As such, she is banned from the locality, it added.
Price rise
Expressing strong concern over the scarcity of essential commodities and skyrocketing of prices, the All Manipur Democratic Women Association (AMDWA), Manipur State Committee has urged the Govt to look into the matter and check unregulated price hike in the markets.
Foundation day observed
The Writers' Club Manipur, Nambol today observed its 21st foundation day at the public theatre hall, Phoijing, Nambol.
Ahongsangbam Tejamani's "Manipuri Loinashillon Neinanba (Anisuba Saruk), Dr Salam Shantibala and Dr Wahongbam Kumari Chanu's "Women Activism in Contemporary Manipuri Literature" were also released during the programme.
SC rejects
A petition filed by former RIMS Director Prof S Sekharjit has been rejected by the Supreme Court yesterday.
Earlier, another petition filed by Prof S Sekharjit which challenged the order issued by the Ministry of Health and Family that placed him under suspension was also rejected by the High Court of Manipur.
NOTIFICATION
It is hereby notified that the written test for recruiting Marketing Executives of The Sangai Express will be held at 11 am on September 12 (Second Saturday) at Unique Education, opposite to the office of The Sangai.
All those who have applied for the said post may appear for the test.
