Awareness camp, medical camp held

The 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted campaign on the theme "Generating Awareness for Local Youth to Join Indian Army" for the students of Southern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (STNBA) High School at Irong on Thursday as a part of the drive initiated to attract the youths towards building their career in the Armed Forces and to motivate students to join the same through NDA, 10 +2 TES, AFMC and CDS entries prior to and after graduation.
150 students including 55 girls attended the programme.
Meanwhile, the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a lecture on water borne diseases, its causes and preventive measures at RRC village on Thursday.
The Medical Officer and his team explained the root cause of water borne diseases during the monsoon in simple terms.
Various innovative methods for conserving purified drinking water, distribution of water purifying medicines and methods to prevent wastage of valuable drinking water were the focus of ongoing efforts by Assam Rifles in alleviating the health related problems.
