Imphal, September 10 2015 :
Due to recent flash flood and landslides in the border region of Chandel district, basic medical facilities have become inaccessible in the remote hamlets.
Sensing the unattended need of the local populace, 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) organised a lecture on water borne diseases, its causes and preventive measures at RRC village today.
The Medical Officer and his team explained the root cause for water borne diseases during monsoon in simple terms.
Various innovative methods for conserving purified drinking water, distribution of water purifying medicines and methods to prevent wastage of valuable drinking water were the focus of ongoing efforts by Assam Rifles in alleviating the health related problems, said an AR press release.
