Goods trucks still stranded

Jiribam, September 10 2015 :
Around 260 vehicles including 192 goods laden vehicles, 30 LPG bullet tankers and 38 oil tankers are still stranded between Leingangpokpi and Ekaro Mile at Jiribam.
These vehicles will leave Jiribam for Imphal with security escorts tomorrow.
On the other hand, BRO and Manipur police personnel checked weights of these vehicles so that no vehicle, which is above 24 tonnes, crosses Barak bridge.
Sources said that oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers would lead the convoy, which would leave Jiribam tomorrow.
Around 150 vehicles, whose weight had been checked, were sent to Ekaro Mile to get ready for their journey towards Imphal, the source said.
Around 70 goods laden trucks were allowed to cross Barak bridge yesterday while 30 overweight trucks were asked to return.
Informing that weight checking would continue tomorrow as well, the source said that the remaining stranded trucks would be asked to wait for the next team of security escorts.
Meanwhile, many empty trucks from Imphal reached Jiribam today as well.
