Imphal, September 10 2015 :
An SBI ATM counter was inaugurated by Brig Sandeep Mohla, Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles at Kamjong- Chassad yesterday.
In a joint effort by 44 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) and SBI fraternity the counter has been set up to benefit more than 5000 people of this sub-division, said an AR press release.
The Commandant 44 Assam Rifles, SBI bank staff and prominent villagers of Kamjong-Chassad attended the inaugural ceremony.
The concept of an ATM counter was conceptualised early this year as people had to travel nearly 80 kms for ATM related transactions as the nearest ATM was at Ukhrul.
Despite total disruption of power supply due to landslides, 44 Assam Rifles ensured a smooth functioning of the SBI branch at Kamjong- Chassad.
Speaking at the occasion, Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles complemented 44 Assam Rifles personnel and SBI fraternity for achieving this milestone.
He also stressed upon the continued effort of the Assam Rifles in bringing technology and other modern amenities to the remotest corner of Manipur, so that these remote parts are at par with any other place of India.
The same was reiterated by Mauinao, Manager, SBI Kamjong-Chassad.
