Anti-malaria month observed

The observance of Anti-Malaria month and Malaria elimination campaign in Tengnoupal district kick started yesterday at the community hall, Tengnoupal .
The month long observance will be conducted under the theme, "Work Together- Hand Together To be End Malaria for Good",
Organised by District Health Society, Tengnoupal and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Tengnoupal, the inaugural programme was attended by DC, Tengnoupal Kh Raghumani Singh and Chief Medical Officer, Tengnoupal Dr Serthani Serbum as chief guest and president respectively .
Speaking at the function, Kh Raghumani pointed out that Malaria has been widely increased among people at remote areas and added that ASHAs posted at remote areas need to be trained properly to curb the spread of malaria and other similar diseases spread by mosquitoes .
He sought cooperation and support from the public in combating malaria and other diseases spread through mosquitoes.
Dr Serthani Serbum also urged the people to extend their support in curbing the spread of the disease .
DC, Tengnoupal Kh Raghumani released a booklet for Malaria elimination campaign as a part of the function .
Staff members of the Medical Department including ASHAs, local leaders and students participated in the function.
