Sports authorities need to improve Khuman Lampak quickly: Th Dhabali

Sports authorities should look into the conditions of Khuman Lampak Main Stadium and make it suitable for hosting Indian football league matches, Dr Thangjam Dhabali, president of NEROCA FC said today.
Dr Dhabali was speaking at the ceremony of distributing team uniforms for the prestigious I-League matches, in a function held at the Classic Grande.
In the event attended by various officials of the club, he added his club is looking forward to give the best in the upcoming tournaments including, amongst others, the Manipur State League, CC Meet and the Hero Indian League.
While expressing his optimism, Dr Dhabali informed that the preparation for the campaign will begin tomorrow and that he has a lot of expectations from his well-experienced 22 players.
He is also planning to bring in a few more foreign players to make the team as formidable as possible for the elite I-League tourney.
On June 6, the president had put forward a presentation to the Youth Affairs and Sports officials on the issue of quality infrastructure at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium and the need for improving the stadium to host matches as those of the I-League.
In this regard, he had also , met the chief minister and said that the latter had given confidence to carry out the necessary work .
The-1-League matches are scheduled after the Under.
17 World Cup, Which will be hosted by India and held from October 6 to 28, and Dr Dhabali hinted there is very little time and the sports authorities would need to speed up any process of renovation and development work at Khuman Lampak.
Recalling the successful 'season, team coach Gift Raikhan said the NEROCA FC is the champion of the Manipur State League, CC Meet, Sahid Manoranjan Tournament and the Division II League white they got the runners-up title-in the Durand Cup.
He further elaborated on how the team including all the management and officials are geared up for the campaign.
Later, the squad for the club was also announced in the event.
