Ukhrul, July 14 2016:
An inter-village road from Phangrei to Khamasom village has been badly damaged due to landslide, reports Mungchan Zimik.
The road is a lifeline for around 10 villages under Yang Raphei.
Landslides have occurred at three different places along the said inter-village road thereby worsening the road condition.
President of YRC Joy Horam said that Yang Raphei villages have been enduring all kinds of hardships especially during the monsoon season.
Poi and Huishu villages have been facing inconveniences while commuting and transporting throughout the monsoon season every year.
Therefore, the State Government should construct a bridge over Wanji river to ease the burden of the border villages.
According J Horam, the inter-village road from Phangrei to Khamasom was constructed in 1980 by the PWD.
Apart from clearing the landslides debris, J Horam also urged the State Government to initiate reparation work along the inter-village road.
