Woman found murdered

Imphal, June 24 2015 :
A 40-year-old woman, who has been missing since June 22 morning, has been found murdered inside a jungle, around 300 metres from her house at Ramrei village (Lamlai Khullen) under Litan police station in Ukhrul district at around 2 pm today.
The woman has been identified as KA Shanti (40) w/o (L) Hormi of Ramrei village.
KA Shanti's 11-year-old son saw her leaving their house after she received a call from an unknown caller on June 22 at around 11 am.
After she did not return home till late evening, family members and villagers have been looking for her whereabouts since then.
After a long search for around 2-3 days, she was found murdered at a gorge inside a jungle, only 300 metres away from her house.
She bore injury marks, suspected to have been made by a matchet on face, neck, leg and right hand.
The woman is suspected to have been raped before she was murdered.
The woman's shawl, slippers and a Rs 500 note were recovered from near her body.
The woman is survived by an 11-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter.
She received an SMS read as 'Pukang' on her phone at 6.45 am on the day she went missing.
