Nemcha distributes Old Age Pension

As part of the distribution of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) MLA Nemcha Kipgen handed over pension amount to aged beneficiaries at ADC Complex, Kangpokpi on Wednesday.
She distributed the pension to some beneficiaries in the presence of N.Usharani, District Social Welfare Officer, Saitu-Gamphazol and other officials.
Speaking to media persons she elaborated that the pension in respect of beneficiaries from 60 to 79 years holding Red and Blue Card for fourteen months, i.e.January 2014 to February, 2015 is Rs.2,800/-(Rs.200 per month) while the amount for beneficiaries from 80 years and above for 11 months, i.e.March 2014 to January 2015 is Rs.5500/- (Rs.500 per month) .
The MLA said that distribution programme of IGNOAPS amount in cash will also serve as a verification process to ensure that only genuine beneficiaries continue to enjoy the Government assistance while conceding that the practice of handing over pension to the beneficiaries cannot be continued in the coming years like the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme which had already been distributed earlier.
She further said that the previous card along with all the necessary documents will have to be deposited with the department concerned for a new card while adding that Direct Transfer System implemented by the Central Government will be activated from the next distribution and the pension amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank account.
.NUsharani, Social Welfare Officer, Saitu-Gamphazol said that the distribution of pension amount at ADC Complex Kangpokpi will continue till tomorrow while the remaining beneficiaries in respect of Keithelmanbi (Champhai)will be distributed on June 27 & 30 at Community Hall, Keithelmanbi.
Beneficiaries in respect of Saitu-Gamphazol Sub Division will be distributed on July 1,2,3&5 at SDO Office, Saitu and beneficiaries from Saikul will be distributed on July 6 to 8 at SDO Office, Saikul respectively further informed the Social Welfare Officer.
