Imphal, June 24 2015 :
In a brief interaction with media persons by the sideline of the new building inauguration function of the Health Dept, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that any demands or issues can be resolved through talks.
He was responding to a query from media persons on the steps taken by the State Government to tackle the ongoing highway blockade.
The Government had earlier urged all sections of the society not to indulge in such form of agitation as it hurts the people.
Earlier an Act was passed in the Assembly for the formation of the Schedule Tribe Commission and the only thing left is the selection of its Chairman and Vice Chairman.
The State Government has been working very hard to select them, O Ibobi added.
Further, he said that the agitators should not have interfered in the service sector and asked what is their vested interest in it.
He said that the posts of all contract teachers of various Higher Sec Schools and Colleges has already been created and the Govt is scheming to regularise the service of the qualified teachers.
The State Government will initiate a talk with the agitators to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, Ibobi said.
When asked on the formation of Autonomous District Councils, the Chief Minister stated that the Government will soon select nominees for all ADCs and let the majority party form the councils.
He asserted that the State Government cannot bow to the threats of UG groups and is ready to face the consequences.
The ongoing cease work strike of the Imphal Municipal Corporation will be looked into and the matter will be resolved soon through talks, the CM added.
