Lamka, June 18 2014:
The Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) today pulled up two persons for making bomb hoax alarm on a road-side near Sauliim Restaurant at New Lamka today.
The duo reportedly raised alarm of presence of a bomb around 1.50 pm.
The news spread swiftly with the police arriving at the spot after some time.
However, Churachandpur SP K Kabib, who arrived sometime after the police mobile team, declared that it was merely an electronic device after he had a closer look at the object.
The object, which later turned out to be a rechargeable battery, was then retrieved clearing the air of panic.
Unfazed by the hoax and the panic it caused to the local populace, the ZRA said that it began investigating the entire events and took the two youths into their custody who first raised the alarm.
The duo, identified as Thangthianmuang (20) of Siloam Veng, Bungmual and Khuppu (24) of Zoar Veng, Bungmual confessed before the armed outfit that they indeed planted the object with no one in sight, and raised the hoax alarm after returning to the site after leaving the site for a moment.
The ZRA paraded the duo before the media and warned that if anyone indulges in such activities in future, they would awarded the most stringent form of punishment without any leniency.
The Hebron Veng Village Authority along with other organisations of the area condemned the incident and slammed the intention of causing panic to the local populace.
