Locals round up URF cadres

Two cadres of United Revolutionary Front (URF) which have signed a peace pact with the Government were rounded up today morning at around 8 .30 by local people of Loitang Khunou when they tried to sneak away with some iron materials of the Spinning mill where the cadres of URF are presently staying as their designated camp.
Later the two were handed over to Sekmai police station.
According to the locals of Loitang Khunou, the two cadres were trying to sneak away with some iron materials which they stole from the spinning mill through a hole in the compound fence located on the northern side of the designated camp.
The two arrested cadres have been identified as Sinam Suresh (31) s/o (L) Rabei of Chingmeirong Maning Leikai and Akham Pratap (33) s/o (L) Noren of Singjamei Thongam Leikai .

The two were rounded up by the locals of Loitang Khunou when the two were trying to take away the stolen items kept inside a gunny bag after hiring an auto rickshaw.
Later a team of police arrived at the spot tried to take away the two URF cadres but the locals refused to hand over the duo.
Soon an emergency meeting was held at Loitang Khonou spinning mill and decided to hand over the two URF cadres to police and submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister regarding the various crimes committed by the URF cadres in their locality and for the proper fencing which the Government had assured to take up in a short period during the meeting with the Chief Minister and JAC constituted after two cadres were found buried inside the designated camp.
The JAC also met the Deputy Chief Minister and demanded that the designated camp of URF be shifted immediately.
The Deputy Chief Minister however said that shifting the camp now would not be possible, which infuriated the members of the JAC no end.
After the meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister, the infuriated members of the JAC went to the camp of the URF and burnt down the sentry post.
Police arrived at the scene and fired tear gas shells to disperse the mob.
Later the two were handed over to the police at around 3 pm.
