Shortly after the incident, angry locals, who have been demanding the Government to vacate the Designated Camp along with the security personnel stationed from the Spinning Mill since the incident of two missing cadres found murdered and their bodies buried inside the designated camp came light, started destroying the walls of the mill.
But a strong team of police personnel arrived at the scene and fired tear gas to quell them.
At least four women protestors were reportedly injured in the police action.
The two URF cadres who were caught red handed while stealing steel pipes and metals from the mill have been identified as Sinam Suresh alias Ibocha (31) of Chingmeirong Maning Leikai and Akham Pratap alias Keny (33) of Singjamei Thongam Leikai.
They were tied up and given a sound thrashing by the local before the arrival of the police who whisked them away.
Later on, the protestors led by Lamshang MLA W Brajabidhu and Loitangkhunou ward No-II Pradhan Gunodhar submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Chief Minister urging him to take prompt action for removal of the URF Designated Camp along with the security forces from the mill.
