Successful students of Behiang area feted

Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi ( ZSP), general headquarters and its Behiang Block felicitated the successful class X and XII students of Behiang areas during a function held at St.
Mary's School, Behiang village, under Singngat Sub-division of Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
PK Jha IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur district; Michael Ginzasuan, DSO Churachandpur and Mannuamching MCS, Chief Executive Officer of ADC Churachandpur attended the programme as Chief Guest, president and Guest of Honour respectively, while father Biju, Parish Priest, Singnat acted as Chief Host.
In all 10 students from Behiang areas came out successful in class X examination, while 13 students in Class XII (COHSEM) examination.
Of the four students of St.
Mary's School at Behiang village who appeared in the Matriculation Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Examination, two students came out successful.
In his key note address of the function, UZO Education Board member Chinlunthang said, 'as a strategy and in pursuance of its education policy for the interior areas, UZO decided in its general assembly on 20th October 2009 to establish Model Schools/Elementary school for Zou tribe villages and in areas particularly at Behiang, for Behiang-Tuivai areas, Muallum for Muallum-Buhsau-Khajang areas, Tuining for Tuining areas villages, and Sajik for Sajik Tampak areas, etc' .
The organisation's policy and principle is to amalgamate the existing schools so as to pull the human resources together in one school and also to set up a high school in the interior Zou tribe areas which will accommodate drop-out students and help their parents who are unable to send their wards to towns and cities for completing their primary education, he added.
