Imphal, July 16 2012:
Reacting to the reported no confidence motion being moved by 14 dissident ADC members of Sadar Hills ADC against the incumbent Chairman , ADC member of the ruling group, Z Touthang said the no trust motion by the dissidents is not acceptable by the concerned administration and the chairmanship of Haokholal Hangshing would continue as it is and will run SHADC administration smoothly.
Speaking to newsmen at the Imphal office of Haokholal Hangshing today, Z Touthang said that the self styled DCC (SH) spokesman has no moral rights to speak boldly as a Congress ADC member as he and thirteen members including SH Seipu, ex-chairman have announced their resignation from the Congress membership on January 9 this year.
The reason for the no-confidence motion levelled against the present Chairman is found to be baseless because for the expansion of the Sadar Hills ADC, Government is awaiting the direction and advice of the Congress party high command, the MPCC, Z Touthang said.
Touthang further said that the office of SHADC is temporarily at Imphal with the permission of the Government as the present Council office is on a major repairing work and also because of the present law and order situation.
He also stated that the selection of GCI sheet beneficiary was discussed in the house sitting at Hotel Imphal with a full quorum under resolution No B (1) and there is no biases in the selection but with the full knowledge of all ADC members.
Election to the autonomous district councils was held two years ago after a 20 year hiatus amid the boycott call given by the United Naga Council.
The UNC had opposed the 2008 amendment under which the poll was held.
