Nude man handed over to police in combat dress

In what could be a recurrence of the excessive activities of security forces, a man who was apprehended from his home wearing nothing has been handed over to police in full combat dress along with a weapon.
Alleged PLA's S/S Cpl Thokchom Yumjaoba (38) of Sekmaijin Maning Leikai was pulled up by a combined team of 17th Sikh Regiment and 27th Assam Rifles from his home.
At that time, he was wearing nothing, said his family members.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, Yumjaoba's mother Mukhi said that his son was carried away by some security personnel who came in two Gypsy's without registration numbers in the night of July 14 .
That night, dogs were barking incessantly.
Worried if anything was wrong, Mukhi opened the door and went outside to see.
But she was confronted by a group of security personnel who asked her son's and went straight to the particular room.
The security personnel reportedly took away Yumjaoba without even giving any time to dress up.
As Mukhi shouted for help, people of the neighbourhood and they tried to snatch Yumjaoba from the hands of the security personnel but they (local people) only succeeded in pulling off Yumjaoba's khudei (loin cloth) .
Thus, the security personnel carried away Yumjaoba totally nude.
Yumjaoba was later handed over to Mayang Imphal police station in full combat dress along with a pistol and two live rounds.
Mukhi admitted that her son was once a member of the PLA but he had quit the party since 2008 after his release on bail.
After that, he has been living a normal married and he has now four children.
Condemning the arrogance and treachery of the security forces, Mukhi questioned if any civilian can lead a secure life when security forces have been acting in such arrogant manner.
No arrest memo was given when Yumjaoba who carried away, added the anguished mother.
