Imphal, July 16 2012:
Commenting that Sadar hills ADC is awaiting for the directive of the Congress High Command and at the same time functioning its Office administration very smoothly, Z Touthang, an ADC member supporting Haokholal Hangshing, the present ADC Chairman has termed the No-Confidence motion moved against the present Chairman as null
and baseless.
Addressing a press conference today, Z Touthang asserted that the four ADC members, who have moved a No-Confidence motion against the present Chairman, had once voted for the present Chairman.
But suddenly fled and joined the dissident group led by Ex-Chairman, Sh Seipu.
This is quite unreasonable and their signatures should not be counted as it would make a mockery of the District Council.
Touthang alleged that after one month of Haokholal Hangshing's Chairmanship, the four ADC members were forcibly picked up by Nemcha Kipgen, MLA Kangpokpi A/C on July 13 and 14 and made to sign on the proposal for moving No-Confidence motion.
So, their signatures should not be counted.
Under these circumstances the motion is not acceptable to the administration and the Chairmanship of Haokholal Hangshing will continue, he added categorically.
As the present District Council office is undergoing a major repairing and at the same time in consideration of the prevailing law and order situation, the office of the SH-ADC has been temporarily shifted to Imphal with the permission of the state government.
ADC Chairman Haokholal hangshing, ADC member Thangkham Misao and others were also present during the press conference.
