Imphal, February 16 2015:
Reminding that all the Board of Directors of Imphal Urban Cooperative Bank (IUCB) have been asked to resign from their respective posts, the proscribed UNLF has once again asked the Board of Directors to resign within the next four days.
In case any of the Directors refuse to comply with this directive, they would be awarded the heaviest punishment, said a press release issued by the outfit's director-in-charge M Sak-hen.
IUCB became a sick financial institution because of the many misdeeds committed by the Board of Directors and this was already explained to the public through the media earlier, added the statement.
After the Board of Directors were asked in person to resign from their respective posts, they were again asked to give up their posts.
However, instead of complying with the outfit's directive, 17 employees appointed on contract basis through fraudulent means including eight relatives of the Board of Directors were regularized recently.
The contract employees who were regularized recently include two sons of president Th Dilipkumar, one son and one daughter-in-law of Ch Tombi, one son of RK Kirankumar, one daughter-in-law of K Meghachandra, one son of general manager L Krishna and one son of branch manager L Bimola.
Moreover, L Bimola's husband Kh Iboton was recently appointed in the bank as professional director.
Calling upon the masses to differentiate between the truth and falsity, the outfit appealed to the public to stand on the side of truth.
It further urged cooperation from all towards delivering befitting punishment to the wrongdoers.
