Veteran cricket: REYS suffer 73 run loss

Imphal, February 16 2015:
A quickfire 73 runs from Bhogen guided NAPSA to a 73 run win over REYS in the Twenty 20 Veteran Cricket Tournament on Monday.
Bhogen, who accumulated his runs from 48 balls, with able support from Ratan (30 runs off 26 runs) laid the foundation as NAPSA raised 150 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets.
Ashni, Ananta and Sreekan picked up one wicket apiece for REYS.
None of the REYS batsmen was able to play a big inning after getting starts during the chase and the team was restricted to a score of 116 for 8 having play out the full quota of overs.
Pyarlal ( 30 of 33 balls), Baleshor (25 off 22) and Ashni (15 of 24) defied the NAPSA bowling attack for a while.
Bogen scalped a wicket while Somendro and Puthiba claimed two wickets each.
The man of the match award was given to Bogen for his all round performance.
Tomorrow, DSU will face Cyclone in a quarterfinal match.
