State officials assigned poll duty

Seven IAS officers, one IPS officer and ten IFS officers currently posted in Manipur have been appointed election observers for the five States which would go to polls next month.
The Election Commission of India today informed the Chief Electoral Officer that 18 IAS, IPS and IFS officers currently posted in Manipur have been appointed as election observers for the States of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Ra-jasthan and Delhi, conveyed an official source.
IAS officers who have been appointed election observers are H Imocha, BB Sharma, Athem Muivah, M Harekrishna, M Joy Singh, Bobby Waikhom and Minlianthang Vaiphei.
Together IPS officer KT Vaiphei, IFS officers Khaizalian, K Premkumar, K Jagadishwor, H Brajamani, Kh Shyam, Lokho Puni, L Gopal, Kh Ibomcha, Th Mohendro Pratap and Kh Brogendro too have been appointed election observers.
On the other hand, Commissioner JC Ramthanga has been appointed electoral roll observer of the ongoing special photo electoral roll revision for Imphal East and Senapati districts.
Likewise, Commissioner K Moses Chalai has been appointed electoral roll observer for Bishnupur and Churachandpur, Commissioner BB Sharma for Imphal West and Ukhrul, Commissioner H Imocha for Thoubal and Chandel and Commissioner T Sitlou for Tamenglong district.
During the ongoing process of special photo electoral roll revision, 9644 duplicate voters whose names were listed in multiple polling stations have been detected and de-listed so far.
